DRONE SOCCER BASICS
What you need to know
Drone soccer is a sport where two teams of five players each control flying drones using a Flight controller inside a netted arena. Each team has one striker, whose mission is to score by flying through the opponent’s goal ring, while four defenders work to block incoming drones and protect their own goal. The drones are enclosed in a durable spherical cage, allowing safe collisions and fun battles. Matches are played in three minutes per round, with points awarded for each successful goal with the highest scoring team declared the winner.
Drone soccer has gained momentum worldwide with official league and tournaments in countries such as South Korea. FIDA Nigeria is proudly introducing it to local communities, combining sport, technology and innovation to prepare Nigerian teams for success on the global stage.
